The annual Little Greeks United – Greek Language Competition is back! And this year, it is dedicated to a defining moment of Greek history that shaped identity, freedom, and language itself:
The Greek War of Independence of 1821 ✨
A Competition With Meaning
Designed especially for expat and diaspora children, Little Greeks United is more than a competition. It is an experience that brings young learners closer to Greece, the Greek language, and Greek history—in a way that is engaging, age-appropriate, and inspiring.

🎯 Participation: Free of charge
Through interactive challenges and carefully designed questions, children explore the Greek language not as something static, but as something alive, powerful, and deeply connected to who they are.
Trusted Collaboration & Academic Quality
The competition is organised by The Greek Online School, in co-organisation with The Daughters of Penelope – London Chapter 440, a partnership rooted in education, culture, and the Greek diaspora.
To ensure quality, fairness, and transparency:
- 🧠 All competition questions are supervised by a team of linguists from the University of Patras
- ⚖️ A three-member committee oversees the entire competition process
This structure guarantees a high educational standard while keeping the experience fun, inclusive, and motivating for all participants.
Why Little Greeks United Matters
Our goal is simple—but powerful:
To help young Greeks around the world connect with their roots, strengthen their relationship with the Greek language, and feel proud of their heritage. Also to get them interact with Greek in a fun and exciting way!
Especially for children growing up abroad, language is more than vocabulary and grammar.
It is memory, identity, and belonging.
