In the months leading up to camp, it’s perfectly natural for parents to feel that twist in their stomach. After all, entrusting your child to a stay-over camp is no small thing. You picture them feeling homesick, maybe asking to come home early, and you wonder if they’ll be able to spend a night away without calling for you. That’s the love and care of a parent speaking—because when you hand us your young ones, you’re trusting us with your most precious treasure.
And then, camp begins. Quickly enough, when we ask the campers if they’d like to talk to their parents. Their answer? “Can you tell them I’m ok? We’ll talk later!” Because Greek camp is designed in a way that it quickly becomes a routine; a routine of fun, friendship, and new adventures. Days are packed with sports, games, and laughter. They try things they’ve never done before, make friends they’ll remember for years, and discover they’re braver and more independent than they imagined. And so do their parents.
This year’s camp was nothing short of amazing—laughter, games, and unforgettable moments filled every day. Our campers learned so much Greek through songs, stories, and activities, while also building friendships that stretched far beyond the Ranch. We are truly grateful to all the parents for their wonderful collaboration and, above all, for trusting us with their beautiful children. It was an honor and a joy to be part of their summer adventure.
By the end, the same children who clung to your hand at drop-off are now holding back tears as they say goodbye to their friends and teachers, their hearts full of memories they’ll carry long after camp ends. And that’s the Camp magic!
